Your files are processed in your browser and are not uploaded. The site uses Google Analytics and a self-hosted OpenPanel for traffic statistics, and currently shows no ads. There is currently no cookie consent banner.

Your files

When you open a file in an AnyEdit editor, it is read by code running on your device. The file is not sent to our servers. When you save, the editor creates a download on your device. When you drop a file on the home page, we only read its name and size in your browser to suggest an editor.

What we collect

The site loads Google Analytics (GA4) and our self-hosted OpenPanel for traffic statistics (see below). It currently shows no ads and uses no advertising cookies. There is currently no cookie consent banner. The site is served through Cloudflare, which may keep standard server logs (such as IP address, time and requested page) for security and operation. Cloudflare may also add its own cookie-free visit measurement to pages it serves.

Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics (GA4) to understand how the site is used. It sets cookies and collects usage data such as pages viewed, approximate location, device and browser type. This data is aggregated and we do not use it to identify you. Analytics does not receive the contents or names of files you open in the editors. You can opt out with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on or by blocking cookies in your browser settings.

OpenPanel analytics

We also use OpenPanel, an analytics tool that we host ourselves, to count page views and clicks on links. Events are sent through this site's own domain to our OpenPanel server, which processes them; we do not sell this data. You can opt out by using a content or tracking blocker in your browser.

Your browser may store your theme choice (light or dark) in local storage. Some editors store their own settings, and the RAW photo editor keeps its photo library in your browser's storage for this site. That data stays on your device and you can clear it in your browser settings.

Third-party services

Pages load fonts from Google Fonts, which means your browser requests them from Google's servers. Links to GitHub and the official project pages leave this site, and those sites have their own policies.

Changes

We may add advertising (such as Google AdSense) in the future. If we do, this page will be updated before it starts, and it will say what is collected and how to opt out. Editors will not show ads.
