About AnyEdit

AnyEdit lets you open and edit pro file formats (PSD, XLSX, DXF, WAV, RAW photos and more) in your browser. It is free, needs no account, and your files stay on your device.

How it works

Each editor is an open-source application compiled to WebAssembly. Your browser downloads it once, runs it on your device, and reads your files locally. We do not receive them. You can check this yourself with your browser developer tools, Network tab.

What is online today

All twelve editors run in your browser. The larger ones (PDF, document, slides, page layout, vector, video and motion graphics) are 28 to 57 MB the first time you open them, and your browser keeps them afterwards. Each tool page also links to the free desktop app.

What we test, and what we do not

Every claim on this site is either something the engine's own documentation says, or something we ran ourselves. We tested that each editor starts and does a simple edit on 2026-10-12. We have not yet published open tests for specific file formats, and the pages say Not tested yet where that is the case.

Not affiliated

AnyEdit is an independent site. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by ArtCraft, Adobe, Microsoft, Autodesk, Avid, or the authors of the open-source engines it runs. Product names such as Photoshop, Excel or AutoCAD are used only to describe which file formats an editor can open and what it can replace.

Credits and licenses

The editors are open-source projects from github.com/storytold, released under MIT or Apache-2.0. We host their unmodified web builds. Their license files are served with each engine.

Some engines also bundle fonts under the SIL Open Font License; their notices are served with the engine files.
