| Check | Result | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Editor starts | Partial | Loaded with GPU compositing, but it was the slowest start (about 1.3 s locally) and one first-load request timed out before a reload fixed it |
| Play the demo composition | Works | The preview and timecode advanced |
| Import a Lottie file | Not tested yet | We have not run an open test for this format yet |
| Render a file | Not tested yet | We have not run an open test for this format yet |
| Phone screen (390 px wide) | Not supported | Desktop layout |
Known issues
- This is a large editor: the first start downloads about 57.2 MB before compression, so it can take a while on a slow connection. Your browser keeps it afterwards.
- After Effects project files cannot be opened. Projects use their own format.
- The first load was slow on the test machine, so low-powered computers may struggle.
When to keep the original software
Keep using the desktop motion software for projects that rely on its plug-ins or expressions, or when you must open existing After Effects project files.
